Summary:
New client editing project – hurrah! Plus so… much… reading…!
Monday:
I did a lot of reading today, including a decent chunk of The Three by Sarah Lotz, for which I added to my notes for an upcoming YouTube video.
Tuesday:
My goal for this morning, after having taken a few days away from my paid editing work, was to get through as much as possible of my current sci-fi novel client project.
I was at my desk and ready to go before 8:30am.
I did a fair chunk – and also won a new project to add to my schedule! It’s a YA fantasy novel, so I’m looking forward to getting started on that.
In the afternoon, I knuckled down and made a first attempt at the final assignment for my CIEP Proofreading course, with the plan of going over it again multiple times later in the week, against all the different aspects that will be graded.
I also finished listening to The Three and made more notes for my May Reviews Revisited video, as well as posting my usual review.
Later, I caught up on some other reviews I’d been neglecting – the two most recent physical books I finished, plus a lovely computer game I’ve been playing.
Wednesday:
I was up early so I did some more YouTube prep (because of course I did) – I filmed the second half of my fourth video, edited it, then checked the first two and finalised them. Later, based on awesome feedback from XPLovecat, I created a much better thumbnail for my intro video than my very poor first attempt.
I finished another book, wrote my review and added to my wrap-up video notes about it.
Thursday:
I went into town for the regular coworking day and edited another chunk of the client sci-fi novel. I had also won another big project, but decided to leave that till next week, so I could get a good run-up at it, rather than starting and then leaving it for several days over the weekend.
I also researched and wrote my first major article for GYWO in 2025, and posted that in the community.
Later, I edited the first part of the most recent podcast episode and also did some more editing and thumbnail preparation for my YouTube channel launch.
Friday:
I finished yet another book the night before, so I wrote my review and my YouTube wrap-up video notes.
Later, I filmed and edited more April wrap-up reviews.
Sunday:
I caught up on reviewing the last three books I finished, typed up my notes for the April wrap-up video and also filmed and edited the next segment for it.
