Weeknotes – Back to Basics

Summary:

Somewhat back in the swing of things with client work, but not so much with my own writing.

Monday:

Back to work with more editing of the awesome fantasy novel I’m really enjoying. I completed a significant chunk today and felt good about it.

After lunch, I hosted my usual Monday afternoon online focus session.

I put together a contract for what I hope will be another editing project to round out July. I also revisited a short story I wrote years ago, which is due to be published in an upcoming anthology. The editor had sent across some very in-depth and insightful interview questions about it and I needed to remind myself of the details before formulating my replies. I put together some hopefully comprehensive answers and sent them back to her.

Tuesday:

I did some filming for an upcoming YouTube video and also wrote a review of a book I finished.

Wednesday:

I spent most of the day in the courtyard outside the British Library.

I edited a chunk more of the fantasy novel.

Later, back at home, I did some more YouTube filming and wrote a review of a book I DNF’d on the train.

Thursday:

Last work day before a long weekend away, so I was at my desk and ready to go by 8am. I started with a developmental edit of a memoir – the new project I won on Monday. Then I went back to copy editing the fantasy novel.

I also finished an audiobook and a physical book and wrote my reviews – plus did some more YouTube filming.
