Weeknotes – S09E24 – Work on the Horizon

Summary:

Booked some work – hurrah! Also wrote a few new pieces of flash fiction – double hurrah!

Monday:

During my afternoon focus session, I uploaded my latest YouTube video and learned how to add manual chapter breaks.

I also wrote a review of the book I finished the night before and added it to my June wrap-up video notes.

I helped Bear post about our anniversary party at the weekend.

Then, in the second half, I went back to the short story anthology I’m putting together, based on a deck of Dixit cards, and wrote the next story, as well as adding another one in and editing it from my stock of existing flash fiction.

Tuesday:

In the afternoon Revision Club focus session, I wrote two whole new stories for the Dixit collection and also revised another two existing stories.

I also did some more YouTube filming and finished an audiobook, so I wrote my review and added to my video notes.

Wednesday:

I did a sample edit as part of an application for an ongoing, regular editing contract I’d really, really like to get – so fingers crossed on that one!

Thursday:

I reviewed another book and a live show I went to the night before.

I also did more YouTube filming and editing.

And I negotiated with a client (not the ongoing thing) and was awarded a paid editing job for next week – hurrah!

I also spent a fair amount of time doing planning for the HRCYED reading challenge, which was a lot of fun.

Friday:

I did more YouTube filming and editing.

I also got my paid editing contract confirmed for next week and did all the prep for that.

Later, Dave and I finished a computer game we’ve been playing together for a while, so I wrote a review of it.

Saturday:

Surprise, surprise! I had a YouTube day!

I finished a couple of books and wrote my reviews, then finished filming and editing my first Read It or Yeet It video, as well as filming and editing the majority of my next TBR video, and proofing a couple of completed videos as well.

Sunday:

I negotiated with an editing client from last year for me to copy edit his latest book – and we agreed a good rate and a reasonable timeframe – so I have a lovely, chunky project to get my teeth into when I get back from my reading retreat – hurrah!
