Summary:
I gave myself permission not to write my novel this week, but my brain decided to work on it anyway!
Monday:
After a weekend away, I had a full morning of paid editing work today.
I started copy editing a new kids’ book about baseball for a repeat client, and I also edited some more of the YA fantasy novel and the prison memoir I started last week.
Later, I edited the latest episode of the podcast.
Tuesday:
I came up with some ideas for my current novel, A Wizard Calls My Name, over breakfast, so I wrote some notes in the manuscript and the outline for the next couple of scenes.
I completed editing the baseball book and sent it back to the client for review and approval. I also edited some more of the YA fantasy novel – which, it turns out, isn’t a YA fantasy novel at all… I went back to the original email about it from my editor and she described it as ‘historical YA fiction type thing’, which is accurate, if a little unspecific! There is no fantasy, so I’m not sure how I got that idea in my head…
Later, I wrote reviews of all the new games I played at Handycon over the weekend.
Later still, I watched the film for the next podcast episode and made notes.
Thursday:
I was out in central London for the day, so packed my laptop, intending to do some paid editing work in between other things. I did manage to edit a bit of the prison memoir.
Saturday:
I wrote reviews of two books I finished during the week.
I also remembered a few thoughts I’d had about Wizard overnight and added them to my outline.
We also recorded the next podcast episode.
Sunday:
We went to the cinema to see The Wild Robot and I wrote a brief review.
