Weeknotes – S08E38 – Prepping to Go Away

Summary:

Had to work hard to get everything done before heading away on holiday, but it all worked out.

Monday:

I got another new paid editing project over the weekend (well, one I knew about but wasn’t expecting until October) and decided to offer to complete it before going on holiday (what is wrong with me?).

Anyway, I edited another chunk of the RPG materials and the first half of the new project – a queer romance novella from a repeat client.

In the afternoon, I had a great coaching session with Sean from A Write and A Pint, which was largely not about writing at all, but incredibly beneficial in de-stressing me from my sense of overwhelm.

Tuesday:

I finished all my agreed paid editing work for the rest of the month – completing the first half of the RPG materials and finishing the romance novella.

I also turned down another paid editing job because the client wanted it completed before the end of September and I’m going away on Thursday for the rest of the month!

In the afternoon Revision Club session, I revised and posted Stanley’s latest blog post and wrote one of my own for my next newsletter.

I also finished editing the latest podcast episode.

Wednesday:

I wrote reviews of two books and a film.

Saturday:

The client I had the very long interview with last week contacted me with some preliminary work but was very clear I shouldn’t do any while on holiday after I reminded him I was away. So, hopefully, that will turn into a semi-regular gig on my return. Fingers crossed.
